Transform your Rapid Edge fire pit into a versatile outdoor cooking station. This precision-cut, heavy-duty carbon steel grill top is designed to fit your 640mm hexagonal fire pit perfectly, providing a robust, high-heat surface directly over the coals.

Carbon steel is a favorite among professional chefs and outdoor enthusiasts alike. It heats rapidly, retains temperature efficiently, and—once seasoned—develops a natural non-stick patina that improves with every meal.

    Key Features

    • Precision Fit: Specifically engineered for all Rapid Edge 640mm flat-pack hexagonal fire pits.

    • Heavy-Duty Construction: Built from 3mm carbon steel for maximum durability and high-heat performance.

    • Stable Design: Engineered to sit securely over your fire pit opening.

    • Australian Made: Proudly manufactured locally to our high quality standards.

How to Season Your Grill Top

Seasoning creates a protective, non-stick barrier. We recommend performing this process before your first cook and repeating it occasionally to maintain the surface.

    1. Clean the Surface Wash the grill top with warm soapy water and a scrubbing pad to remove any manufacturing residue. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely, either with a cloth or by placing it briefly over low heat.

    2. Apply Oil Using a clean cloth or paper towel, apply a very thin, even layer of high smoke-point oil (such as flaxseed, grapeseed, or canola) across the entire surface. Tip: Wipe off any excess; a very light coating is the secret to avoiding sticky patches.

    3. Heat the Steel Place the grill top over your fire pit (or a gas burner) and heat until the oil begins to smoke and the steel shifts to an amber or brown color. Allow it to cool slightly.

    4. Build the Patina Repeat the oil-and-heat process 3–4 times to build a durable, non-stick seasoning layer.

Ongoing Care After each use, wipe the grill clean while still warm, apply a light coat of oil, and store in a dry location. To prevent rust, avoid soaking in water or leaving the grill top wet.
